Lavonna Longwell for City Council, Ward II

I am running for office because it is time for us to work together and create our community’s future. I believe the people in our community want the best for our town. We face some challenges in the future. Our increasing population will demand new and innovative solutions for transportation, industry and education. Together, we can meet these challenges.

  • Expand our local transit system;
  • Partner with local communities to provide regional transit services;
  • Explore new technologies to lower our street maintenance costs;
  • Welcome new, sustainable industries that respect our environment that:

                       -bring high paying jobs
                       -entice our youth to become life-long residents;

  • Revitalize the Greeley Mall as a vibrant gathering place and marketplace for eastside Greeley residents.
  • Utilize partnerships with Aims and UNC to provide neighborhood small business incubators to assist in the success of local start-up businesses.
  • Hold monthly conversations with the residents of Ward II so that, together, we can make wise, thoughtful and innovative choices for our city, based on common needs and desires.

We are a community rich in talent, educational resources, the arts, music and diversity. Together we can all make a difference in the future of Greeley.
